Unexhalted Beautiful Women (UBW)   Leave a comment

While I am stuck on lists it would be wrong, dead wrong for me to dismiss a top 10 list of women who get very little PR and yet are smoking hot beautys…. and Yes I did tell Bhavna abouth this post already!! IMHO; Due diligence needs to be offered to non-american, non-white UBWs. An often overlooked ‘cat’-egory that shamefully goes un-noticed and ignored.

10. Michelle Rodriguez

9. Catherine Zeta Jones

8. Selma Hayek

7.  Halle Berry

6. Eva Mendez

5. Alyssa Milano

4. Deepika Pudakone

3. Alicia Keys

2.  Beyonce

1.  Line Gost

And so there we have it then. Stunning, “dark horses”-pun intended, unexalted, unforgotten, shaken but not stirred, flowing (not sure what I mean by that comment), regal and finally, here, heralded and appreciated for their beauty and hottie’ness.

Most Dangerous’ Neighborhoods In US Ranked   Leave a comment

Chicago has the dubious distinction of holding four places on a list of the 25 most dangerous neighborhoods in the nation.Using crime data compiled by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, NeighborhoodScout.com made a list of areas with the highest predicted rates of violent crime in the United States. The nation’s worst neighborhood, according to the study, is in Cincinnati. The study’s author, geographer Dr. Andrew Schiller, said the calculation gives people a better way to understand the “climate” of crime in particular in sections of cities.”It’s better to understand the climate rather than the weather. It’s very important to have a sense of risk for somebody in a particular location rather than a more pedestrian counting of what happened last week,” Schiller said.In addition to stats provided by the FBI, NeighborhoodScout.com collected data from 17,000 local law enforcement agencies. Schiller and his team looked at key indicators as identified within the FBI Uniform Crime Reports. Incidents and rates per 1,000 people in a neighborhood population for specific violent crimes were then calculated. Here is the list:

  1. Cincinnati, Ohio (Central Pky./Liberty St.)
  2. Chicago (State St./Garfield Blvd.)
  3. Miami, Fla. (7th Ave./North River Dr.)
  4. Jacksonville, Fla. (Beaver St./Broad St.)

King works return to bookshelves   Leave a comment

Books written by the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr, which have not been available for nearly 20 years, are set to be republished again next year.

King’s son Dexter, has agreed a deal with publishers Beacon Press, in what he has called a “historic partnership”.

Lectures by the late activist will be compiled into new editions with introductions by leading scholars.

The books will be released on 18 January, three days from what would have been King’s 80th birthday.

‘Human dignity’

The books that will be republished include the 1958 Stride Toward Freedom, King’s memoir of the Montgomery Bus Boycott of 1955 and Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community?, which was printed in 1956.

Beacon is a department of the Unitarian Universalist Association.

The company publishes books on social justice, human rights and racial equality.

Among the authors it has published are James Baldwin, Derrick Bell, Cornel West, Howard Thurman, Marian Wright Edelman and Roger Wilkins.

In a statement, Dexter King – who is chairman of his father’s estate, said: “Beacon Press will be a dedicated public outlet for his work and will help bring his urgently needed teachings of non-violence and human dignity, and his dream of freedom and equality to a new global audience.”

In 1968, the black civil rights leader – who was awarded the Nobel peace prize, was assassinated aged 39.

Five years before that, he led a huge march across Washington DC where he delivered his now famous “I have a dream” speech.

He was best known for advocating the use of non-violent tactics such as sit-ins and protest marches, and leading the way in gaining equal rights for black people in the US.

Wisconsin store’s shirts poke fun at ‘Brent’ Favre – FOX Sports on MSN   Leave a comment

Are you a Packers’ fan angry at Brett Favre? Do you need to let people know the pain he has caused you?

Instead of wasting your breath over brats and beer in Green Bay, just say it with a shirt.

A clothing store in Madison, Wisc., is now selling Packer yellow-and-green shirts with Brett Favre’s mug on it, saying “We’ll never forget you Brent.”

And no, Brent is not a typo.

With talk that Favre could be headed to the Packers’ bitter rival in Minnesota, Sconnie Nation clothing shop is capitalizing on fans’ increasing rage.

“Now people are really mad with him,” store manager Isaac Lenz told the Wisconsin State Journal.

And there seems to be quite a few fans out there who need to express that anger — the store has already sold hundreds of the Brent shirts in the past two weeks.
